Goodbye!!!!!

No I'm not leaving but some of our favourite stamps will be!
The new catalogue comes out in April and to make room for all the great new stamp sets and accessories that are going to be released they are retiring a stack of stamps (I mean pretty much half he stamp sets in the Current catalogue - I haven't counted but it would be close to half)
Everyday more and more stuff is getting sold out, so I've decided not to post the list here, but if you do want to check out the list either leave a comment here with your email (if I don't already have it) or send me an email zjgould@gmail.com and either way I will email you the most current retired list.
If you want to book a workshop during April with the new catalogue let me know by either calling 6862 2552 or email me on zjgould@gmail.com.

Project of the week 11-17/2/08

Hey guys, sorry I forgot to post last Monday... Charlotte had a rotten day, you know how it is.

So to make up for it I'm going to offer a HUGE deal this week so make sure you scroll down and check it out!

So anyway this week my project is a card I made for my friends who had a baby boy a week and a bit ago. Stefan is absolutely gorgeous so it was only fitting that I made a gorgeous card for him.

I used Bashful Blue Cardstock as the base of my A6 (10.5x14.9cm) Card;
1. I attached a 2" strip of Barely Banana which I had torn along the rightside to the left hand side of the card using my SNAIL
2. On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the giraffe from the 'Wild About You' set in Certainly Celery and cut it out using my Papersnips. It doesn't show well in the picture but I attached it with stampin' dimensionals. Then I stamped the sentiment from 'Small Sayings' next to the giraffe - I think it's the cutest sentiment for baby cards!
3. Then I stamped 'Stefan' using the 'Rough Edges Alphabet' in Bashful Blue Ink on Certainly Celery Cardstock then cut it out using my Large Oval Holepunch. Then I attached it with a little SNAIL to the card where I wanted it, I lined up the Large Oval frame from my Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware and marked where the brads go with a pencil then removed the frame and punched on the marks with my 1/16" handheld punch, moved the frame back where I wanted it and attached it with the matching brads that come in the Hodgepodge.
TIP: You can also use the paper piercer and an old foam mousepad to punch holes for brads, but if you use alot of brads in your projects then the 1/16" punch is so easy to use!
4. Because I didn't have patterned paper to suit the project I decided to make my own using versamark and the star from the 'Small Sayings' stamp set out of the Summer Mini. If I was redoing this project I would probably do this before attaching the giraffe & oval.
5. For the finishing touch I used one of the medium Ribbon Buckles from the Hodgepodge Hardware and threaded the White Organdy & Celery Grosgrain through together and attached using mini glue dots.

If you would like to make this card for yourself all products are available from Stampin' Up! and you can place your order through me to have your order sent straight to your door anywhere in Australia. Contact me on 0418 650 294 or zjgould@gmail.com to place your order.

Project of the Week 28/1-3/2/08

I had my first 2 official workshops this weekend!!!
I had been hoping for just 1 sometime this month and then I got 2... On the SAME weekend! lol! When it rains it pours.
I had a great time and although they weren't huge workshops in terms of sales I got another booking and alot of experience, I felt I improved even from the Friday one to the Sunday one.

Anyway this card is a card I made for a friend who was going to a wedding (I hope she doesn't mind me using this - I did wait until after the wedding so the bride or groom couldn't accidently stumble upon it). It was my first attempt at using vellum and I was really happy with how it turned out.

I used a piece of 6x5" piece of Perfect Plum cardstock (scored at 1" to make a 5x5" square) as my base:
1. On a piece of 5x5" Pale Plum I stamped the butterfly from the Reason to Smile hostess set in Perfect Plum, then I stamped the coordinating row of flowers from the same set in versamark.
TIP: I love using versamark to fill in a gap without drawing attention away from the main focal point of the card.

2. I then attached the vellum to the pale plum using my SNAIL (now named 'Herbert' thanks to the Friday workshop) Vellum can be a little tricky to attach because the adhesive can show through - because this would be behind the fold it wasn't a problem in this particular card.
3. Then using my Stamp-a-Majig and the Best Friends Upper & Lower Alphabets I spelt out the names of the bride and groom above and below the butterfly. I can't use my Alphabet stamps without the Stamp-a-Majig anymore, it is just the best way to ensure perfect placement every time. Check out this Tutorial for more info on the Stamp-a-Majig and how to use it.
4. I then measured a piece of Pale Plum cardstock to fit the large Hodge Podge Hardware frame and stamped the word 'Cherish' from the Warm Words Stamp Set. I attached the cardstock using SNAIL to the centre of the folded over piece, I lined the frame up over the piece of card and marked the holes for the brads with a pencil, then removed the frame and punched the holes using my 1/16" Handpunch (the perfect size for brads), then lined the frame back up and attached it with the brads.
5. The final step was to attach the Pale Plum & Vellum to the Perfect Plum base using SNAIL.

Project of the Week 21-27/1/08

This was the card I made for Gemea, it was really easy to make and literally only took 10 minutes! Put your sunnies on lol!

I used Only Orange Cardstock as the base of my A6 (10.5x14.9cm) Card;
1. I attached a 1" strip of Pink Passion to the right hand side of the card using my SNAIL
2. On a scrap of Very Vanilla I stamped the flower from Big Blooms in Tempting Turquoise, then I used my Pink Passion Stampin' Write Marker to colour the centre of the flower and stamped it on a seperate piece. I cut out the base and centre of the flower and attached them to the card using a Stampin' Dimensional deliberately not lining up the centre and the base exactly.
3. To make the '3' I used the Simon Lower On Board letters and covered it in Pink Passion using a sponge dauber, then I pressed my versamark pad all over the number and covered in heat 'n' stick powder, I heated it with my heat gun and while it was still sticky I covered it in Dazzling Diamonds. I reheated it again to set the glitter. The 3 was then attached to the card using mini glue dots.

If you would like to make this card for yourself all products are available from Stampin' Up! and you can place your order through me to have your order sent straight to your door anywhere in Australia. Contact me on 0418 650 294 or zjgould@gmail.com to place your order.

Card of the Week 14-20/1/08

This is another card I made for the Gulu Fundraiser, it was very quick and easy and only took about half an hour to make 4 of them. If you are interested in purchasing cards or making a donation to Gulu contact me on zjgould@gmail.com for more details, I can make cards to order for $2.50 each or 5 for $10 + $1 postage.

To make this card I used Very Vanilla Cardstock for the base of my A6 (10.5x14.9cm) Card;
1. I used my 'Scribble' Jumbo Stampin' Around wheel with Pink Passion to stamp across the card twice. This wheel was in the Spring Mini and I hope it gets brought back for the new IB & C being released later this year because it's just so pretty!
TIP: Stampin' Up! don't make Stampin' Around Cartridges in some of the colours like Pink Passion & inking off the ink pad doesn't work for a long line, so for large areas simply purchase an uninked cartridge & ink refill of your choice and voila you have a cartridge in any colour you want!
2. I tore along the edge of a 10.5x4cm piece of Tempting Turquoise card then I stamped the flower outline from the 'Bold Butterfly' set in Tempting Turquoise all over trying to cover the whole piece of card without overlapping the stamps too much. I then layered this on the Base card using my SNAIL adhesive.
3. Then on a piece of Whisper White Card I stamped the base flower from 'Bold Butterfly' in Pink Passion, then the outline in Tempting Turquoise and cut it out using my paper snips and attached it using a Tempting Turqoise brad.
4. Then using the Best Friends Alphabets (Lower & Upper) I stamped 'ThankS' across the card in Tempting Turquoise.
This Card was so much fun to make, I love using Stampin' Around Wheels. If you would like to make this card for yourself all products are available from Stampin' Up! and you can place your order through me to have your order sent straight to your door anywhere in Australia. Contact me on 0418 650 294 or zjgould@gmail.com to place your order.
