Congrats Kirrah & Noel!

I had my sewing machine out (and worked out lol) from this card so I decided to use it and boy, did I use it!
This was a wedding card for a friend of mine from work, and I know it isn't a traditional wedding card, but the bride wore navy so I knew a traditional card wouldn't suit the theme ;p
I used an old Mojo Monday sketch, it's the type I'd normally go running from (too much white space) but I stuck pretty close to the sketch and I think it worked for me...

Happy Australia Day

Happy Australia day everybody!! I should have made my card today something Aussie themed, but I wasn't thinking that far ahead... I made this card ages ago and I got word the other day that the recipient received it so now I can share it...
This is based on an old Mojo Monday sketch, I loved it so much that I made 3 more of this design and then another 4 using every pack of DSP I own! Talk about instant card stash...

Happy Fathers Day to you from me

Another father's day card, this time for Justin's dad but again using a non-fathers day sentiment. This one uses my favourite set from the Spring mini, I haven't shown it yet because I've been using it on some birth announcement cards which I don't want to show until the baby is born obviously. But this set is so adorable for little boy cards and layouts, I love it! (Imagine it on a scrapbook page pulling the title across the page...)
Stamps: Best Yet, Right on Track, Choo Choo
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Brocade Blue
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Brocade Blue, Very Vanilla, Patterns II DSP pack
Accessories: Old Olive Brads, 1 1/4" square punch

Wild About Daddy!

This is Justin's fathers day card, I know "wild about you" isn't the usual fathers day greeting, but Charlotte is definitely wild about her daddy so I thought it was appropriate. I wanted to use some Garden Green DSP from the level 1 hostess pack but it's not really a colour that I've ever used so I went to the trusty old Colour Wheel and it suggested this colour combo (it also said Brilliant Blue as another coordinating colour and Rose Red as the complementary colour, but I chose to stick with 3 colours).
Stamps: Wild About You, Weathered
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Certainly Celery, Garden Green
Cardstock: Kraft, Patterns II DSP pack, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, Bravo Burgundy
Accessories: Jumbo Eyelet, Certainly Celery 5/8" & 1/4" grosgrain, Bravo Burgundy 5/8" grosgrain, Crimper, Scallop Edge punch

This is the kind of card I hate to make...

A customer (and now friend) of mine lost her father recently and I wanted to send her something to let her know I was thinking of her. I really, really, really hate making this kind of card, and it's about the only time I wish I wasn't a cardmaker so I could just duck to the newsagents and buy something... But I do it because I care, and if it's hard for me to make a card I can only imagine how hard it is to be the person I'm making it for.
To make it easier I used Mojo Monday #100/2 from the other week as my sketch, and good old Heartfelt Thanks as my stamp set.
Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss
Cardstock: Kraft, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Bella Rose DSP
Accessories: White Taffeta, Eyelet Border & Corner Rounder punches

Mojo Monday #98 - Just because I care

Have you ever made one of those cards that is perfect except for 1 thing? I stamped the sentiment slightly crookedly but only so slight so that you have to look twice to see if it was crooked or just your imagination, so I kept going with the card, attach the next layer, and because it's straight it makes the crooked piece seem even more crooked! I was so annoyed!
Anyway, as flawed as it is, it's my entry for this weeks Mojo Monday Challenge.
Have a great day!

Mojo Monday #96 & Makeesha's Inspiration Challenge #10 - Happy Bird-day

I needed to make a card for Justin and thought that both the Mojo Monday challenge & Makeesha's Inspiration challenge were perfect for his card so I combined the 2 and I'm happy with the result. From the Inspiration picture I've used the hostess gift Patterns Pack II DSP for the patterned paper, to show the symetrical pattern in the stripes of the doona cover. I have picked out my colours as Brocade Blue, Basic Grey, Kraft & Sahara Sand (I could have taken Tempting Turquoise but I felt the Brocade Blue also worked). The stripes in the cover were perfect for the Mojo Monday sketch:Stamps: Pun Fun
Ink: Basic Grey
Watercolouring: Watercolour Wonder Crayons with Aquapainter; Brocade Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Summer SunSahara Sand
Cardstock: Kraft, Brocade Blue, Sahara Sand, Patterns Pack II DSP (Basic Grey & Brocade Blue)
Accessories: 1/2" Circle punch, Brocade Blue 5/8" Grosgrain, cutter kit (distressing on centre stripe)

Mojo Monday #94

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted! So that we can start on the next step of our renovations (10 weeks until the baby's here and we need the office wardrobe reno's finished so we can move all the boxes and crap out of Charlotte's room), I have had to pack all my stamping gear up into plastic tubs etc and move them out, and hence no time to stamp. I have 99% of the office packed up now so I have been able to set up a little makeshift studio in the kitchen (I was going to try and work completely out of tubs but when I lose half an hour of my stamping time pulling the essentials out it was not working!). Anyway, I got my new goodies from the Spring Mini (available 1 August let me know if you want a copy), and this was the first card I made, not 100% happy with it because I was feeling rusty after not stamping for a week, but I think it turned out ok. I mean how could it not with that paper!

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Sincere Salutations

Accessories: Corduroy Buttons (Available Aug 1st), Summer Love Rubons (Available Aug 1st), Punches; 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circles

Mojo Monday #76 - Fall Flowers Thanks

I saw the Mojo Monday sketch and had to give it a go, I don't think I really did it justice though, you know you have an image in your mind and you pop it down on paper and it's just nothing like you imagined... My excuse is that when I made this card my Mojo had been MIA for several days, maybe the mojo in Mojo Monday was what appealed to me lol, surely using a sketch with a name like that would have to help me find mine again... This is a gorgeous sketch and I might have to give it another shot, what do you think?
