It's here!!! New 09/10 Catalogue Starts today!

That's right!! The new catalogue goes live today!!! I can place orders from midday today and I'll probably be finalising my first order right up until 11.59 lol.
The new catalogue should be live online today, but sometimes there are delays, as soon as it's up I'll let you know.
To celebrate the new catalogue I thought I would make a card using some of the gorgeous new products I was able to get in pre-order and the set Enjoy Every Moment from the Spring Mini which made it into the new Catalogue.
I took inspiration from a colour combination I spotted in the new catalogue, So Saffron, Pink Pirouette & Close to Cocoa, and the sketch challenge SK032809 from Paper Craft Planet.

Loads of Love Easter Basket

I was complaining the other day that I didn't own any easter stamps and then when I was preparing for my Terrific Techniques class I spotted the Easter Eggs in the Loads of Love Accessories set, so I decided to use it for the last teacher present for Charlotte's pre-school...
I used the same template as the other day, but I added a cardstock handle instead of a ribbon one:
I scalloped both edges of the handle and added a strip of DSP (the reverse of the DSP I used on the base).

Easter Box

Another Easter present for Charlotte's preschool teachers, this time I made a box rather than a basket. All I had to do was add a flap at the top of the basket to turn it into a box. I used punch art again instead of stamping as I don't own any Easter stamps.

Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge #1

Here is my card for Dawn Mcvey's 1st Colour Challenge. The colours I chose were Pumpkin Pie, Pink Passion, Chocolate Chip & So Saffron with a tiny bit of Pixie Pink thrown in.
I made the background for this card then had to find something to do for the main panel, so it was a little backwards, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I didn't have quite the stamp for the main panel so I decided to use Eastern Blooms (so glad this one will be hanging around!) and made a Faux BOUF.
PS Thanks to Lisa for photographing this for me, I forgot that it was for the challenge and rushed off to pick up Charlotte from preschool finishing this off in the carpark of the post office lol

Easter Basket

I'm a bit early but time keeps sneaking away on me so I've started making Easter presents for Charlotte's pre-school teachers. I picked up some little Guylian boxes for a few dollars each & decided to make a little basket to hold them, added some DSP & a little punch art Rabbit and we're done!
I've made a template if you would like to make one yourself, the dimensions for this one are 10cm wide x 5cm tall x 3.5cm deep, but it wouldn't take much to resize.

Playing with my new In Colours!!

This was the first card I made with the new In Colours Riding Hood Red & Pink Pirouette! They are absolutely adorable and I'm in love with them! I have more colour combos I want to play with but as soon as I saw these 2 colours IRL I had to put them together!
As alot the selection really wasn't my style I only preordered 1 stamp set (which I haven't used here, I have a specific project in mind for it later) so I was really limited in my stamp choice, but that will be rectified shortly after 1 April when I have full run of the new catalogue lol.

Swap Cards

These were my cards for a recent swap I was part of. We were given a sketch as our "theme". Each card is slightly different because I didn't have enough of the exact same flowers in my flower fusion but they're all the same basic thing. Since I got my scallop edge punch my poor little corner rounder has been slightly neglected so I gave it a good workout on these using it for what it was intended: Rounded Corners!

Ginger Blossom Thank You

Another card using this piece of Ginger Blossom DSP. I kept it very simple with the Embrace Life blossom & the Short & Sweet "Thank You". I'm loving this River Rock ribbon from the Beach Ribbons Original Pack, I hope there's something similar in the new catalogue!
PS I've been on a real Kraft kick lately, has anyone else noticed?

Ginger Blossom Thinking of You

Still on my ginger blossom kick. I love how Chocolate Chip looks with this piece of DSP, so I decided to forgo stamps & use some of the Chocolate Chip Rubons in the Hidden Garden pack. I also love this Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon from the Spring mini catalogue but I spied it recently on the "Theatre" Ribbon Originals pack which is now on the retired list so if you want some you better get in fast (If it hasn't already gone).
This card will be going to a special customer this week who needs a little love right now. Better run Charlotte is yelling out from her cot.

Another Faux Big Ole Ugly Flower!

I am loving the 5 petal punch flower thingies that I have come to call "Faux Big Ole Ugly Flower" as a bit of a salute to Keesh's beloved flower. I know it's not really the same thing but tell me you can't see it in there!
I was going for a nice summery simple card with this one and I think I pulled it off, normally when I sit down with something in mind that's when nothing goes right, but for some reason that wasn't the case this time lol.

PS on a NSR topic I just want to give a shout out to my mate Pete! Pete has been involved in Youthwork of some form for as long as I have known him and he has just started a new blog aimed at making Teenagers more socially aware of the world outside their own little safe prosperous bubble. Here's the quote from the top of his page:

"idream of a world without poverty! idream of a world without child slaves! idream of a generation of generous young people who have the ability to change the world and choose to do so, idream of a world that's not consumed with "what i want!", but with what others need, idream of ......."

While Pete's dream of change comes from his faith in God he blogs in a way that is real & genuine without being preachy and I think there is so much to be made aware of, not just for teenagers so I really urge you to drop by his blog iDream and check out what he has to say.

Mojo Monday #76 - Fall Flowers Thanks

I saw the Mojo Monday sketch and had to give it a go, I don't think I really did it justice though, you know you have an image in your mind and you pop it down on paper and it's just nothing like you imagined... My excuse is that when I made this card my Mojo had been MIA for several days, maybe the mojo in Mojo Monday was what appealed to me lol, surely using a sketch with a name like that would have to help me find mine again... This is a gorgeous sketch and I might have to give it another shot, what do you think?

Karin's Masterpiece!

Karin came over to play the other day & she needed to make a birthday card for her Aunty, so for a little inspiration she went thumbing through my (well loved, time for a new one?) catalogue and found this little gem on page 51:
She loved how they'd turned the stamp sideways to make a little vine of flowers and since I didn't have the Birthday Best stamp set (funny thing is she owns it but she left her stamps at home and just brought her cardstock etc) so we went looking through my stamps for something similar that we could use to recreate the look. Karin also wanted to use some colours from the Soft Subtles colour family so we pulled out the Colour Coach and came up with the magic combination of Lavender Lace, Apricot Appeal & Certainly Celery.
And anyway here is her interpretation:
Don't you just love it? It makes me so proud when I see one of my customers (but friend first lol) use the resources SU! has made available to us all and they make something they love! And it makes me even prouder to see her use a colour like Apricot Appeal with such ease when I have so much trouble using it!

Just My Sketches - Gotta have the Bling

I'm really excited to reveal my first ever layout as a Design Team member for Just My Sketches!!! I had heaps of fun with this sketch, it called for a little more white space than I'm normally used to so it pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I think I managed to do it Justice!
The photo is one of Charlotte when she put a ring from her ring stacker thingie around her arm and walked around the house with her arm out like she was wearing a bangle.

Terrific Techniques Challenge Card

At my terrific techniques class every month I give the girls a little something with the challenge to make a card, layout or 3-D item with what I gave them and bring it back as "show & tell" there's no winner & no obligation to take part but if they make something they get a Freddo frog or something else small as their prize.
This was the card I made for February's challenge of Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon & the ribbon buckle from Pewter Hodge Podge Hardware.
