Welcome Archer

The oh, so talented Rebecca Byers had a beautiful little boy (Archer, hence the A's) last month and since I already had her address from a birthday card swap we're both in I decided I should send her a card congratulating her on her new little bundle of joy.
I used a few challenges from my inspiration page to make this card. Including an old Just Add Ink Colour Challenge and an Annabelle Stamps Sketch challenge.
Stamps: Wild about You, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Calendar Alphabet
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Barely Banana & Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip Patterns DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Barely Banana and Whisper White
Punches: Designer Label Punch

Wild About Daddy!

This is Justin's fathers day card, I know "wild about you" isn't the usual fathers day greeting, but Charlotte is definitely wild about her daddy so I thought it was appropriate. I wanted to use some Garden Green DSP from the level 1 hostess pack but it's not really a colour that I've ever used so I went to the trusty old Colour Wheel and it suggested this colour combo (it also said Brilliant Blue as another coordinating colour and Rose Red as the complementary colour, but I chose to stick with 3 colours).
Stamps: Wild About You, Weathered
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Certainly Celery, Garden Green
Cardstock: Kraft, Patterns II DSP pack, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, Bravo Burgundy
Accessories: Jumbo Eyelet, Certainly Celery 5/8" & 1/4" grosgrain, Bravo Burgundy 5/8" grosgrain, Crimper, Scallop Edge punch
Sketch: Mojo Monday #100/3

Welcome Baby Allan

A friend I used to work with recently had a baby boy, due to complications he was born at 25 weeks, fortunately he seems to be a fighter and is doing very well considering his gestation. I wanted a card to send to them in hospital to brighten up his room/humicrib since they will be down in Sydney for the next 3 months or so before he can come home.
14/7/09 ETA: Heaven has 1 more angel, Allan was laid to rest today. He fought as hard as he could but he didn't make it.
It didn't show up well in the photo but the middle elephant is actually stamped 3 times, I stamped him straight onto the Whisper White piece of cardstock, then again on some scrap with the stitching, cut out and raised up over the 1st elephant using dimensionals, then I stamped him again, cut out his ear stitched it and layered it using another dimensional.
Stamps: Wild About You, Short & Sweet
Ink: Baja Breeze, Basic Grey, Basic Grey SW Marker
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Urban Garden DSP

Welcome Benjamin

Justin's cousin had her baby boy last week and this was the card that I made for them. I got the idea for the faux stitching on the elephant from Heather Summer's Blog.
I inked up the elephant in versamark before I inked it in Baja Breeze so that I could emboss it with Clear embossing powder to give him a little shine.
Stamps: Wild About You, Short & Sweet, Polka Dot Background
Ink: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Versamark
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Baja Breeze 1" DS Ribbon, Not Quite Navy 1/4" Grosgrain, Styled Silver Hodge Podge, Clear EDP, Full Heart Punch

Makeesha's Inspiration Challenge #2

Here is my entry for Makeesha's latest challenge. I took my inspiration from the pillow on the right. I had been thinking about making a card for it but I didn't think I'd get one done in time, but I had inspiration (or should that be inkspiration ;p ) it hit all of a sudden - I glanced at my pack of beachfront ribbon originals and saw the rik rak and I just knew I had to make a card for the challenge whether it was still open or not. I made this in like 10 mins because I knew exactly what I wanted.
I have been having a fantastic day of stamping fun with my upline Lisa so Keep an eye out for heaps more creations to come over the next few days.
Stamps: Wild About You, Occasional Greetings

Thinking of You

This card was inspired by the beautiful swap by Larisa Brown that I received at regionals (on left) I loved it so much I just had to make my own version. The colour combination was a really random one, I knew I wanted Purely Pomegranate and when I went digging through my scrap box to find a piece (It is getting ridiculously full I'm trying to take my cardstock from there first to get it down a little) and when I picked up the purely pomegranate I accidently grabbed a piece of Elegant Eggplant as well and I was just about to put the elegant eggplant back when I noticed how nice the colours looked that I decided to use them together for my card!

Stamps: Wild About You, Polka Dot Background, For a Friend
Ink: Purely Pomegranate Elegant Eggplant
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Accessories: Purely Pomegranate DS Ribbon, Corner Rounder with guard removed for scalloped edge

Birthday Wishes

This is the card that I made for Justin from me. I have so much trouble making cards for him! I went with the Jersey Shore Colour Scheme again but this time I just used a piece of Brilliant Blue Prints DSP. I know the penguin is a little bit kiddish, but this card is for the guy who just said the other day 'I like toys', so I think I can get away with kiddish for the big kid!

Stamps: For a Friend, Wild About You
Ink: Versamark, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Paper Crimper, Scallop, 1 1/4", 1 3/8" Punches, White EDP, Wild Wasabi DS Ribbon
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue Prints DSP

Project of the week 11-17/2/08

Hey guys, sorry I forgot to post last Monday... Charlotte had a rotten day, you know how it is.

So to make up for it I'm going to offer a HUGE deal this week so make sure you scroll down and check it out!

So anyway this week my project is a card I made for my friends who had a baby boy a week and a bit ago. Stefan is absolutely gorgeous so it was only fitting that I made a gorgeous card for him.

I used Bashful Blue Cardstock as the base of my A6 (10.5x14.9cm) Card;
1. I attached a 2" strip of Barely Banana which I had torn along the rightside to the left hand side of the card using my SNAIL
2. On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the giraffe from the 'Wild About You' set in Certainly Celery and cut it out using my Papersnips. It doesn't show well in the picture but I attached it with stampin' dimensionals. Then I stamped the sentiment from 'Small Sayings' next to the giraffe - I think it's the cutest sentiment for baby cards!
3. Then I stamped 'Stefan' using the 'Rough Edges Alphabet' in Bashful Blue Ink on Certainly Celery Cardstock then cut it out using my Large Oval Holepunch. Then I attached it with a little SNAIL to the card where I wanted it, I lined up the Large Oval frame from my Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware and marked where the brads go with a pencil then removed the frame and punched on the marks with my 1/16" handheld punch, moved the frame back where I wanted it and attached it with the matching brads that come in the Hodgepodge.
TIP: You can also use the paper piercer and an old foam mousepad to punch holes for brads, but if you use alot of brads in your projects then the 1/16" punch is so easy to use!
4. Because I didn't have patterned paper to suit the project I decided to make my own using versamark and the star from the 'Small Sayings' stamp set out of the Summer Mini. If I was redoing this project I would probably do this before attaching the giraffe & oval.
5. For the finishing touch I used one of the medium Ribbon Buckles from the Hodgepodge Hardware and threaded the White Organdy & Celery Grosgrain through together and attached using mini glue dots.
